Pumpkin Pickin

We headed out to Inkom to pick in Grandma Sherry's pumkin patch. There were so many big pumkins. The kids had so much fun. I think Grandpa Bell did to! Thanks for letting us enjoy!

Easton of course picked the biggest one!

Fall Flag Football 11 on 11

This was Easton's first year to play 11 on 11 fall flag football. It was alot of fun to watch. Easton played on the defensive line and linebaker. He was a flag ripping machine! Expecially when I gave him a Mountain Dew before the game! I think he is going to be a great football player!

Cannon's Soccer

Cannon made his Mom proud this season in soccer. He was SO good. He scored about 10 goals a game and the coach would final tell him that he had to go back and play defense. He would stand back there and then as soon as the ball would get close he would sprint for it and head down the field for another goal. He tried to pass a few times but told me, "Mom if you get the ball you get to score the goal." We will have to work on team work. He got to play with his cousin Peri and few kids from our ward. It was alot of fun

First Day of School

Holy cow I can't believe he is a 3rd Grader! Easton will be in Mrs. Taki's class this year and was ready to head back to school. I think more to see his friends than anything else!

Cannon started preschool with Miss Sheri. He really likes her and is always tell me, "Well Miss Sheri said........". As long as he gets to the front door first it is a good day at preschool!

Annual Huckleberry Picking

Derek convinced me to go camping and Huckleberry picking again this year. We met Jylisha and Grant up at the camping site and they picked with us the first day. Cameron and Megan came up the last day and picked with us. We got several gallons so now I have some jam to make! Peyton was so funny picking and eating the berries. Boys Camping Trip

The boys talked Derek into taking them camping before School started. The went up to Malad Summit and went fishing. Cannon caught fish, Easton caught Craw Fish and a Water Snake that Derek let him bring home. The put them in Easton's fish tank and they stunk up my whole house. Finally all the Craw Fish died and just the snake was left. Then Easton left the lid open a little bit and the snake got out. It is still not to be found. I don't know if it went down the air vent or is just dead somewhere. Hopefully not ALIVE somewhere!!!!

Bee's Game

When we went to Lagoon, we also got to go to a Bee's Baseball game and watch Matt Palmer pitch. Derek played with him in college. Thanks for the tickets Matt. The kids had so much fun chasing the bee around, riding the train, get baseball hats, and staying after the game and getting posters signed by all the Bee's and of course getting to ride in Matt's brand new MOSTER Ford truck!

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon with Grandma and Grandpa Rice. It was alot of fun. Peyton was old enough to ride the rides and her and Cannon rode everything together. They had so much fun. Easton of course rode all the big rides and we took turns riding with him. I think his favorite was The Cliffhanger and the Collosus. He even rode Re-entry for the first time ever!

Las Vegas

We went to Las Vegas for a whole week in July with Derek's whole family. It was so much fun to get away and have a more relaxing vacation where we didn't have to constantly be running around. We went to the BMX bike races, Circus Circus, M&M world, Ross Dress for less on the strip, Bowling, Steak and Shake, Shopping, Bass Pro, fishing, ate lots of yummy food, and swimming ALOT!!! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Eddie for letting us use all of your time share points!

Turning "4" in Vegas

Cannon got to go to Las Vegas this year for his birthday. He wanted to to go fishing so Derek, Cameron, and Beau took the boys to Bass Pro and Cannon got to get a new fishing pole and then they headed to a lake to go fishing.

On his birthday we went to Circus Circus. He got to ride lots of rides and had alot of fun. I think the roller coaster scared him a bit. He fell asleep on the way back to the Hotel so we had to have cake the next night.
He is stubborn, defiant, and screams ALOT, but how can you not love this kid? Happy birthday Cannon!!!

It was our annual Rice reunion in Bear Lake over the 4th of July. We had alot of fun playing on the beach, jet skiing, crafting, eating, and just spending time together. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the fun and the great Christmas in July!

So I have been doing alot of reflecting the past year. An amazing lady in my ward asked me to write down some of my feelings about dealing with the loss of Berkley for a book that she was helping to write. It of course is always hard to go back and think through this hard time but so good for me to write it all down so that my kids will be able to read it someday. I also have to thank Robyn for giving me some ideas. She told me that it really helped them to celebrate her little boy's birthday. They always make him a cake and celebrate HIS day. We haven't really ever celebrated Berkley's birthday. To me this was just such a hard day. Not really one that I felt like celebrating. It usually would pass without mention and me just thinking back on this day and a few tears! But this year I decided that this is HIS birthday and we are going to celebrate him. We usually go to McCammon to visit his grave on Memorial Day but this year we went on his birthday instead. We also went for ice cream after. I have also spent alot of time reflecting on the things that I am thankful for from this day and this time in our lives.

1. I am thankful that I got to hold my baby in my arms for a long time. These will be moments I will treasure forever and I know that even though his spirit was not in that little body it was in that room with us!

2. I am thankful for my amazing husband who even though I know he was falling apart on the inside was a rock on the outside for a wife that was not. I am grateful for the amazing man that he is for me!

3. I am thankful for family who paid for the funeral, paid to bring us all back home so we could bury our baby here, paid for the plot, came and helped us, and talked and listened for many hard months to come.

4. I am so thankful for Easton who gave his Mom a reason to get up each day and keep plugging along. He was always so concerned why Mom was so sad but always had a way to make me smile.

5. I am thankful for the amazing friends we had in Missouri. It was so nice to have friends that were really more like family to help us through this hard time!

6. I am thankful for Running. I know kind of funny but I really think this is what helped my to move forward. Me and Easton would drive 20 minutes to the gym everyday and I would run and run and it made me feel so much better, gave me time to think, and just release stress and gave me the will to go on with the day.

7. I am thankful for such a special little boy who must be more special than we can even imagine to not need that body. To not have to come to this sometimes horrible place to be tried and tested.

8. I am so thankful for knowledge that we know who we are, where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going. It gives me peace.

9. I am thankful that I have one child that I don't have to worry about. I know that he is exactly where he is supposed to be, doing exactly what he is supposed to be doing!!!

Easton Bannock Boys Baseball

Easton is almost done with his baseball season and here are a few pictures. Derek is coaching and it started out a little rough. Derek had a little yelling problem and Easton didn't handle it well and ended up in tears most games. While we were on vacation Derek read a baseball book by Augie Garrido, Texas Longhorn Baseball coach. It did him good. He has been alot more laid back and no yelling. Easton is enjoying having his Dad coach again! Easton is quite the little hitter. He hits alot of line drives to the outfield and has a great swing! He has been playing 3rd base and getting more aggressive. It is fun to be back at the baseball field. I miss it!!!!

EASTER 2011

Here is a picture of the kids in their Easter outfits. It was difficult to get them all to cooperate!!! Here they are Easter morning with their baskets. A little disappointed that Mom had talked to the Easter Bunny and informed him NO Pokemon cards allowed!!!We headed up to Idaho Falls on Saturday for an Easter egg hunt that Jylisha (Derek's sister) puts on every year. It was fun and the kids loved seeing their cousins!

Little Peyton was just happy with one egg. It took her awhile to get it open but she finally did.
They had two different hunts 1 for 6 and under and 1 for 8-12 year olds. Cannon was all pumped ready to get a big prize he saw out on the field and the minute they said go this is what we got....Another melt down. That is pretty much an everyday occurance with this kids lately. He decided he wanted to go with the big kids and did just fine after all that!

Easton ran fast and got a huge thing of bubbles.

After the hunt they had alot of fun playing on the toys. Thanks Jylisha for the fun day!!!

Then on Easter, Grandma Eddie did an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Here is a picture of the big kids waiting for the little ones to have a chance to get a few eggs.

Only Cannon

Cannon had his first tball game on Saturday! I thought he would be so excited because he LOVES baseball. He got up to bat the first time and hit it really good. Then, the fun part. Here is Derek trying to talk Cannon into running the bases. He was not having it. He had a major meltdown. He took his helmet off and just started running across the field. I didn't think anything of it until all the parents started laughing and pointing. This is what I saw across the field. That little stinker was climbing the fence. Grandpa Rice got there just in time before he was about to go over. That is Hiline on the other side of the fence. That little stinker is so stubbord it is crazy. Good thing he is so cute!!!!!

Ladybug Birthday

I can't believe she is already "1". It seems like we just brought her home from the hospital. Here are some pictures from her Ladybug Birthday. It turned out so cute. Thanks everyone who helped me pull this together. We love this little stink and couldn't imagine life without her. She is so much fun. She went to the Dr. the day after her birthday and she was 21 pounds 14 ounces and 30 inches long. She is not a baby anymore. She is walking around now more than crawling and has had a few bruises from falling. Love you Princess Peyton!!! (My Mom made this amazing hat to match this amazing dress my friend Krystal made.) Once she opened this present from Aunt Camie and Uncle Beau, she didn't want anything else.

Here she is cruising in her new car Grandma and Grandpa Rice gave her. We are so excited to ride it down to the park! My friend Toni made all the cute cupcake liners, toppers, candy wrappers, water bottle covers, and banner! I think it turned out amazing!!

Our Little Vampire

Several weeks ago, Peyton got two more teeth. They weren't the front two though, they were the ones on the sides of the front two. She looks like a vampire. It is so funny. It makes me laugh everytime she smiles. Derek always says, "I want to such your blood," to her and she giggles. It is so funny. Since then, the two front ones have popped through too. I am sad she won't be our little vampire for much longer!

Easton's 8th Birthday

Easton celebrated his 8th Birthday on Feb 20. I can't believe we have an 8 year old. This is such a special birthday and Easton was spoiled. He got scriptures, his scout uniform, and his Dad got him a 22 against my better judgement. The deal is that he has to take piano lessons and if he drops out the gun goes bye bye! He also got just what he asked for a $50 bill from Grandma Rice. We had dinner and he wanted pie instead of cake. Thanks to all the Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins for helping him celebrate!

Easton Science & Art Fairs

Easton participated in both the Science and Art Fairs this year. He is obsessed with Storm Chasers so Derek helped him make a Tornado. It was really cool even though we ran out of dry ice. I am the least artsy person ever so I was not to excited about doing an art project but Easton of course wanted to draw tanks, guns, and army men. We did a mosiac flag to go with it and sponged the camo background. Easton got a first place ribbon and won a movie ticket and treats.

Basketball Season

Easton finished up Campfire Basketball about a month ago and now has started Jr. Jazz. He is really starting to catch on! It is much funner to watch now. He usually scores several baskets a game and is really good at passing the ball! As for Cannon, I think he was blessed with the Basketball gene. He dribbles and shoots better than most the kids on Easton's team. He has to wear his Basketball clothes (the ones he has on in the picture) almost everyday. It is a fight to get them off of him. It is so fun to watch the grow and get better at things!

TEETH AND THE NEW DOG

Easton lost three teeth in 1 week. After the second tooth he left the tooth fairy a note that said he wanted two 50 cent pieces instead of a dollar. The tooth fairy left him a note back saying she was all out of 50 cent pieces for the night so next time. Well the next day he came home from school with another tooth. He must have really wanted those 50 cent pieces.

We also went and picked up the new dog. I am not the happiest camper out there. Especially because Derek headed back to work on Sunday and left me to take care of the puppy for the next 5 days. Did I say I hate dogs. Well anyway we named him Tyrus "Ty" and the boys are loving him expecailly the big boy (Derek)! The things I get talked into.

EDDIE BOYS THANKSGIVING HUNT

Cam and I took the boys pheasant hunting the day after Thanksgiving. We all had a good time. Cam shot 2 and I shot 1. The best part of the hunt was the 15-20 minuite sneak the boys put on 2 sharptail grouse that were sitting in a tree (as seen in the last picture). Easton hit one, but the power of the old red ryder couldn't bring down the grouse. The boys love to go bird hunting!

The kids were not so into it this year or maybe it was Mom. This is not my favorite holiday. So Peyton was a Strawberry, Mom was Strawberry Shortcake, Easton was an army man, and Cannon was Dash some of the time. He was not diggin the costume or at least the mask. The kids weren't much into trick or treating either so we just went around the neighborhood got about 20 pieces and they were happy. I was happy we didn't have to trick or treat all night. I have a feeling those days will be coming in the next couple of years. Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

MEET THE KLEPTO

Yep, that's him our little kleptomaniac. So Cannon has this little problem, he likes to swipe things that are not his. The last week that has been Derek's phone. Derek lost his phone while hunting and ever since he got this new one Cannon has decided that he wants it. One day the neighbor called and asked if I new that Cannon had Derek's phone, nope he swiped it. Then came the spanking, lecture, and the okay Dad. Next day Derek gave the phone to Peyton to play with. Cannon went and got one of her toys and exchanged it for the phone and headed down to the neighbors with it. Saturday the boys head to Lowes to do a project, oh wait here comes Grandma back in the house with Derek's phone. Cannon had stuck it in a sock and then shoved it in his pocket. Are you kidding me? What are we going to have to do to get it through his head?
So the latest.........
So this afternoon Cannon brings me this and says,"Mom will you open this for me?" I ask him where he got it and he says he doesn't know. I say WHERE DID YOU GET IT? From the store. Derek had taken him to the store earlier in the day. I called Derek and asked him if he had bought Cannon the sucker. Nope he swiped it. Derek said that Cannon wanted it but Derek had told him to put it back. Cannon said he was hiding it from Dad all day until he went to work. So I packed him up in the car along with all of his money that he has been saving and headed back to Autozone. We took it in and Cannon had to pay for it with his OWN money. Not my proudest Mother moment. So now I hope he understands me when I tell him that the next time he does that the Cops will come and get him. I kindly asked the guy behind the counter to tell him that too. Hopefully he learned his lesson and I don't have to find a Cop to come and visit our house :)

THE BIG PUMPKIN

Grandma and Grandpa took us to the pumpkin patch last Saturday. We went through the corn maze, played games, got the boys faces painted and then the pumpkin patch. We took the wagon and saw and headed out into the patch of course Easton had to have the biggest pumpkin he could find and Cannon's wasn't much smaller. When we got up to weigh it Easton said he thought it would weigh 30 lbs the guy working said he bet it was more like 40. So...........47lb. $11.75 for one pumpkin. Good thing he has the best Grandma in the world who is willing to pay that for a pumpkin because his Mom sure isn't! :) Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the fun and expensive day!

PUMPKIN PATCH

After conference on Sunday we headed out to Grandpa Bell and Grandma Sherry's. We have been waiting several months for this. The pumpkins were ready. The kids had been out several weeks ago and staked claims on them but they were not quite ready. So here they are. Thanks Grandma Sherry for growing us some monsters!

6 MONTHS

So I am six months now. Just went to the Dr. and I was 17 pounds 15 ounces and 27 1/4 inches long. They are always calling me a chunky monkey. I don't know what that means but it must mean cute. They are trying to make my sleep in my own room. It is clear across the house. What are they thinking? I just scream really loud at the top of my lungs and eventually they come and pick me up. He He I kind of have them figured out. They keep giving me this really good food. I gobble it up and get so mad when I am done. I just want to eat and eat and eat. I love my brothers expecially Easton. He makes me laugh so hard. He is really funny. He snorts and me and I snort back. He growls and me and I growl back. What a fun game. They say I am just getting big and being a happy baby. I can roll across the room to get what I want and can sit up and play with my toys. I am just loving being the PRINCESS!!!

Labor Day Eddie Family Reunion

Okay so a little late. I wanted to post the first day of school first but those pictures are on the internal memory of my camera and I can't find the cord to get them off. So here are some pictures of Labor Day. It was alot of fun! We played games, shot guns, played Minute to Win It, and just had a great time. We took another trip to Bear Lake this time with Grandma and Grandpa Rice. We had fun playing in the water, panning for gold, and roasting marshmallows. Easton found a caterpillar and a water snake. He was beggin for us to let him take the snake home. I don't think so. I can barely stand the lizards we have. We also hiked up to Bloomington Lake. I had never been there before and it was beautiful. On the way home we stopped close to Preston and picked Huckleberries with Great Grandma and Grandpa Rice. You know how Derek loves his huckleberries. Now I need to find time to make jam. Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa for letting us have fun with you!

EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION

ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition was in Pocatello last week. It was so exciting and the city was so excited to have them here. Everyone was talking about it. Me, the kids, and my parents headed down to check out the house the last day. Oh and we got to see Jillian from the bachelorette. She is my favorite so I was so excited. This was great for the community and there were so many volunteers it was crazy. I am excited to watch the episode later this fall.

Summer T-Ball

So this is a little late, but Easton played T-Ball this summer. He had alot of fun and it was great to play with his friends MyLeigh and Koby. He also had a DeMarini bat that he thinks makes him hit the ball really far. He did great and was a great hitter. Oh yeah and he had red cleats just like his Dad.

SALT LAKE

We headed to Salt Lake for a few days last week. It was good to get away and do something fun with the kids before summer comes to an end. We stayed at a motel that had a water park inside and the kids thought it was lots of fun. The next day we headed to Lagoon. Cannon loved the little bumper cars, Easton loved the Spider and Jet Star the best, and Peyton loved being carried in the carrier so she could see everything that was going on. The next day we went school shopping and went to a Bees game. It was lots of fun but went way to fast.

The Princess is 4 months old. I can't believe how fast it goes. She went to the Dr. today and no suprise she is huge. 16 pounds, 26 1/4 inches. In the upper 90th percentiles in both. Taking after her brothers. What has she been up too? Rolling over, giggling, cooing, smiling lots, playing in her saucer, sleeping through the night (thank goodness), loving her big brothers, getting her toe nails painted, getting her ears pierced, just being a happy baby. We love her and are having so much fun having a girl!!!!

BEAR LAKE

We went to Bear Lake last weekend with Derek's family. We had alot of fun on the beach, riding 4-wheelers, panning for gold, and just hanging out. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for letting us stay at your house. It is so nice to have a nice place to stay. Love you guys tons!!!

Yep that's Cannon taggin behind on his 4-wheeler. He was fearless on it!

We had seagulls next to us on the beach. The kids were army crawling across the beach and every time the seagulls would look at them they would dunk their head under the waster. FUNNY!!!!

Okay he keeps saying he is 5 but I think he is only 3. Cannon's birthday was yesterday and I think he got just what he wanted. I little 4-wheeler to ride around the neighborhood. Okay I am already sick of chasing him around and pullin him out when he gets stuck, but he looks so dang cute on it. We had a family party and BBQ. Thank you Grandmas and Grandpas, Aunts and Uncles, Cousins for all of the great gifts. He loves them all. It was kind of funny. Cam and Meg got him a present and it didn't have his name on it so he went and got a pen and wrote his name on it to make sure it was his. What a funny little man. We love him so much even though he is so stubborn and defiant. Good thing he is so darn CUTE!!!! Yes there are more than 3 candles on the cake. He had to put the whole package :)

I was sitting on the couch watching TV and Cannon was laying on the floor. I thought he was asleep. Then he got up and this is how the coversation went.
Cannon: How did the baby get out?
Me: What?
Cannon: How did Peyton get out?
Me: Like out of my belly?
Cannon: Yeah out of your belly.
Me: Oh she just popped out.
Cannon: So you got stiches?
Me: No she came out between my legs.
Cannon: Oh like down by your feet?
Me: yep.
Cannon: Did you catch her?
Me: No the Dr. caught her.
Cannon: Did you have those shoes on?
Me: No I didn't have shoes on. I was laying down.

He gave me a puzzled look and layed back down and went to sleep.
I was trying not to laugh or give to much info :) Kids gotta love them.

2nd Annual Eddie Boy Reunion

This is my new favorite time of the year. We all have so much fun together, just us boys!
This year we went camping in the mountains above Malad. There was so much to do including; four wheeling up the "wicked trail", creek fishing, bass fishing, spider catching, lots of good eating thanks to Grandpa Eddie, playing in the campfire, BB gun shooting, and lots of good company. We even damned up the creek at our campsite to improve the fishery for future trips, Cameron was the master designer! We returned to Pocatello for flag football games on Thursday night, both boys were pretty tired! Once again, we all had a good time, and the time went by too fast! We are already looking forward to next year!

EASTON FLAG FOOTBALL

We finished up flag football last week and are sad that it is done. I think that football is going to be Easton's sport. He is a flag ripping machine and even throws in a few tackles every once in awhile. I think he is going to be a killer linebacker in a few years. It was a great year and we have a great coach. 12 YEARS AND COUNTING

12 years. In some ways it seems like just yesterday we were married and then I think back on everything we have been through and got to experience and it has been 12 great years minus a few tough ones along the way. I just wanted to let Derek know how much I love him and how thankful I am to have such a wonderful husband and best friend. Here's to many more wonderful years. We went to Salt Lake for the weekend and just shopped and hung out. Oh and had the best breakfast in town at the Little America. It is divine. We highly recommend it. It was well worth the $40.

This is always such a hard time for me. I always say that I don't know how I will ever say I am thankful for having to go through this trial, but now I think I can say that I will never be thankful that I never got to have my baby but I am thankful for the growing experience. This was a time when I have never felt closer to my husband. I am so thankful that I had him to go through this with. He was there to listen to me cry alot, and there to listen to me talk alot. I am so thankful for the plan of Salvation and the knowledge we have. So until we meet again I know that Berkley is being watched after by one of the most amazing people I have ever known, my Grandma and for that he is very lucky. When I was going through all of this my friend sent me this poem and I just love it so here it is.

WHAT MAKES A MOTHER
I thought of you and closed my eyes and prayed to God Today. I asked "What makes a Mother?" and I know I heard Him say.

"A Mother has a baby" This we know is true "But God can you be a Mother, When your baby's not with you?"

"Yes, you can," He replied with confidence in His voice. "I give many women babies, when they leave is not their choice.

Some I send for a lifetime, and others for the day. And some I send to feel your womb, But there's no need to stay."

"I just don't understand this God I want my baby to be here." He took a deep breath and cleared His throat, and then I saw a tear.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

School is out and I don't know how excited I am about it. It could be a long summer of fighting boys :) Here are some pictures of the last day field day. I can't believe it is on to 2nd grade. The true test of a good teacher is when on the last day of school all the kids are bawling. They were all so emotional about leaving Ms. Sanders. It was so cute. She is amazing and it was a wonderful year of great learning. Thank you Ms. Sanders!

FRED MEYER

So a couple of weeks ago me and Cannon went to Fred Meyer. When we were walking out the door leaving, Cannon was not paying attention and ran into one of the cement pillars in the front of the store. It knocked him to the ground and he cried and cried. Well Friday we were on our way to McDonalds for lunch and I needed to stop at Fred Meyer to get a couple of things. Cannon said, "I don't want to go to Fred Meyer. Fred Meyer hurt me." Well look what Fred Meyer did this time.

We were walking out of the store and Cannon was walking but looking at the big Avatar display and ran into a big cylindar thing that holds their ads. I ran him up to Derek at the ER. Derek said it needed stiches but Cannon was throwing a fit so he just steri stripped it. We are hoping it holds. That dang Fred Meyer! I don't think I will be able to get him to go back again :)

My good friend Krystal has just started to take pictures and wanted to practice on Peyton. The first day didn't go so well. Peyton was not a happy camper and did not like that pink petty skirt. We went in to the hospital around 7 Sunday morning and things got started around 8. Peyton made her grand entrance at 2:05. Things went great. Getting induced it was great to only have a 6 hour labor. Peyton was 8'7" and 21 inches long. For two weeks early she was a big baby. Of course we have to have a little drama. Derek noticed a few hours after that she wasn't using her left arm very much. Come to find out her collar bone was broken during delivery. I guess it is pretty common in big babies. The doctor said it will heal fine and after a few weeks we won't even notice it. For now she just lets us know if we touch her wrong. We are so thankful for a beautiful baby girl and that everything went so great. The boys love her and are excited to be big brothers!

So the nursery is finally done. I think it turned out good. I am happy with it. Thank you Derek for all the hard work. He made the wooden window valance, painted the crib, and touched up all of my not so great paint job. Love you honey. I was supposed to be going to a Primary Presidency meeting a couple of weeks ago and showed up to a surprise baby shower. Tara had planned it and it was a complete surprise. We had pizza played the Wii, went to Randy's Tumbling, and then Ashton and Carter spent the night. The boys had so much fun at Randy's they were so sweaty and their little faces were so red by the time we left. Let's just say don't go there on a Friday night. It is middle school night and there were about 100 middle schoolers running around.

It is hard to believe that we have a "7" year old. How time flies. Easton got Devastator off of Transformers 2 and Mario Kart. He was excited to get just what he wanted. He was also spoiled from Grandmas, Grandpas, and Great Grandma and Grandpas with money, more transformers, and remote control 4wheeler. He is going to have a little party this Friday with his cousins and a friend from school. They are going to go to Randy's Tumbling and spend the night. Happy Birthday Easton! WE FINALLY HAVE A BIG BOY

so the potty training has been along time coming or at least I have been trying for along time. I just really wanted to have it done by the time the baby got here. Well Cannon was not having it. He kept saying, "It is just too hard" and "I'm the baby." Well one day I took all of the diapers out of the drawer so when he went to get one they were gone. I told him there were no more and that I had to start buying diapers for the baby. He said, "Mom go buy me some more diapers." I said no and just like that he was potty trained. He hasn't even had an accident (minus the one night bed wetting). It is so nice I don't even have to ask him if he needs to go, he just comes and tells me he needs to go. The first few days he would only pee in our shower but now we have transitioned to the toilet. WE ARE SO PROUD WE FINALLY HAVE A BIG BOY!!!!!

Christmas and the New Year

I haven't been the best blogger lately but just wanted to update you. We had a great Christmas. Derek was off and it was so nice just to get to spend alot of time together. We were spoiled as usual and Santa did find us. The first thing Easton said on Christmas morning was. "See Mom I was Bad and Santa still came." I think next year Santa might have to teach him a lesson. Derek gave in and let us get a Wii. It has been fun to play together and keeps the kids busy while it is cold outside. Derek worked New Year's Eve which actually worked out great because me and Cannon are both sick. I hate not being able to breathe and can't take anything to help. We are so thankful for all the blessings we have and are looking foward to a great year. 12 more weeks till our house gets turned upside down by a GIRL!

GIRL!!!!! I know I still can't believe it and I will not be suprised if when she comes out they happen to see a little extra something you know where. Just to make me feel a little more confident the ultra sound tech is going to just do a sex check at my next appointment to confirm. She was pretty sure it was a girl though! Headbands, bows, flowers, I can hardly wait :) Oh and we are thinking Peyton. Dr Cox said "But that's a football name". I know but I can't think of another baseball name and I just love Peyton.

Today was Easton's first day of 1st grade. I kept asking him all week if he was excited and he kept saying, "No what am I going to do there ALL day? I want to play with my friends instead!" Then this morning he woke up and was so excited he kept saying "I am so excited I can't believe school is today!" I have mixed feelings. I am glad to see him back in the structure of school and it will be nice to have the break, but I was a little sad to think of my baby in school all day eating lunch, riding the bus. Okay it took me til about 1:15 to get over it. That is when he walked back in the door this afternoon and started whining.

HUCKLEBERRY PICKIN

So we headed off to Soda Springs last weekend to go Huckleberry Picking. Derek is obsessed with Huckleberries and has even tried to grow them in out backyard several times. It was fun and the boys had a blast. Well Cannon did most of the time except when the red ants got him. The boys were playing and all of the sudden Cannon started crying and we asked him what was wrong. Easton comes stollin up and says "Oh he just has red ants crawlin all over him" like it is no big deal. Poor Cannon got eaten alive. They even got in his diaiper and bit his little bum all up. The joys of camping :) I think Mitt had the most fun. We ran him until he was so tired he couldn't keep his eyes open. Now he has a huge blister between his toes. Maybe that will keep him from diggin for awhile! Thanks Grant for directions to the great pickin spot!

These are a few pictures from our night in Las Vegas. We stayed at the Luxor and were in the pyramid. Easton was excited about that. We walked the entire strip the boys did so good. My feet not so good. I wanted to make it all the way to Treasure Island to see the pirate show because I thought the boys would love it. Well lets just say the pirate show has changed a little from when I last saw it. It was a bunch of half naked vixens dancing around luring the pirates in. I swear it used to be just the pirates. Derek said I was just giving him an aniversary present. Well Easton loved the fire in the show and the water show at the Mirage. I definately do not love Las Vegas. I don't get a good feeling there and Derek is pretty sure it will catch on fire and burn to the ground someday :)

11 Wonderful Years

Okay we just got back from a week in California and I have alot to post so I will do it over the next week. First, while we were gone we celebrated our 11 year anniversary. It is hard to believe. We are so thankful for the years we have had and all of the memories we have made. We are best friends and thankful that we found each other so early in our lives so we can spend all the more time together.

It is so hard to believe that it has been 4 years. It is still so fresh in my mind. We were able to take the boys to the cemetary and put our windmill on his grave. I am so thankful that he is buried by my Grandma Bell and everytime we go there I have a strong feeling that she is watching over him for us. I always thought that as time went by it would get easier. I guess on a day to day basis it has but it is still such a hard thing for me. I am so thankful for the knowledge we have of eternal families and that families can be together forever. It brings peace to my heart.

Our neighbor friends the Weirs have a mud slide going down their backyard into the gully. The kids love it and it is one of Easton's favorite things to do in the summer. Easton graduated from Kindergarten today. We are so proud of him. He has learned so much this year and is ready to be a first grader! It is kind of sad but I have to say I am a little excited for all day school!!!! We let Easton choose what he wanted to do after graduation so we went to the zoo, then Night at the Museum, then dinner at Texas Roadhouse.

Easton's teacher has breast cancer and asked all of the kids to pick a book and make a hat to go along with it. She will read a book a day and wear the hat that goes with the book that day. In the summer she is going to donate all of the books and hats to the cancer wing at Primary Children's hospital. Here are a few pictures of our creation!

Okay the funny mark above Easton's eye is glue. He split his head open earlier in the week so up to the Emergency Room we went to have Dad glue it closed!

Yep were pregnant! I wasn't planning to post this this so soon but it is funny how fast word travels. I took a test the Thursday we left for St. George and the second line was very light so we weren't sure. So I took another later that morning, Saturday morning before I ran, and Monday morning. The line kept getting darker. I went to the Dr. on Wednesday and started the Heparin shots twice a day. How fun :( I have an ultrasound on the 10th to see how things are going. We figure with all the problems we have had in the past we could use everyones prayers! Oh Easton says it better be a Girl. I am sure we are only going to have a houseful of boys!

Eventful St. George Weekend

So me and my friends headed to St. George last weekend to run the Half Marathon. It was a little more eventful than I had hoped. We went to the temple on Thursday night and when we were backing out of the parking lot my stupid "sexy shoes" as we call them got caught and my foot was stuck under the brake pushing on the gas. I hit the truck parked behind us. My car was much worse than the truck. Easton was so excited that I "jammed up the car" but was disappointed it wasn't worse. The race went great. We all did as good as or better than we wanted to. It was alot of fun spending time with my neighbor friends and new friends from Layton.
